Bob Rook

5/13/1958 ~ 3/19/2025

Bob Rook, our beloved father (Dad), grandfather (“B-Paw”), brother (Bobby), 66 of Midwest City, passed away on March 19, 2025.

Born May 13, 1958 in Norman, Oklahoma, he was a wonderful son to Charles Rook and Darlene Leary. As a young mason, he laid the brick for the expansion of his childhood house of which after his parent’s passing, he became the steward.

A creative sign maker and designer, he was full of original and detail-oriented ideas that turned the workplaces of Graphic Signs Inc., Debo Dimensions, and G&S Signs into a positive atmosphere, and transformed co-workers into true, life-long friends.

An avid rugby player, volleyball player, and cyclist, he was a tough competitor and dependable teammate who uplifted and encouraged others.

He helped the organization “Friends of the Rook” renovate the Rook Theater in Cheyenne, Oklahoma,  into the Rook Star Event Center, forever preserving the Rook family’s heritage and ongoing community impact. He was a connective thread through several generations, weaving his sentiment through storytelling and thoughtful gifting of Rook family heirlooms.

He helped raise three children with Deana Rook during their 14 year marriage and in subsequent years as parenting partners and friends. Always going above and beyond, he had a special way of caring for those he loved as well as strangers in need.

He was preceded in death by his parents Charles Rook and Darlene Leary. He is survived in death by his sister Cheri Nordstrom, children Chazlen Rook, Christina Hardesty, Brian Freeman, and grandchildren Talon Hardesty, Rooke Hardesty, and Mikayla Freeman.

His ashes will reside in his self-made urns that he proactively engraved with the inscription “B.O.B. Bit of Bobby,” and will be dispersed at his most cherished places across the country.

He will live on in our hearts and be remembered as a humorous, compassionate, strong, gentle, one-of-a-kind family member and friend. May we all carry on his legacy as a generous servant, joyful collaborator, and loving individual.
